In May, our playgroup took a trip to the Iwig Family Dairy in Tecumseh, KS (SE of Topeka).
Once we got to the dairy, we had all brought picnic lunches.
It had been a REALLY muddy week, so we were not able to see all the cows in the milking area, but we did get a tour of the bottling plant.
First we saw the bottle washing machine. It was very hot and humid inside!
The milk tanks were also very cool to see – lots of milk in there!
And finally the bottling machine.
The huge walk in refrigerator was apparently very scary, and Luke didn’t want to go in. So we weren’t a part of the big group picture. But outside we got to see one of the calves.
Once our tour was complete, we all got samples of the yummy chocolate milk – it was definitely the best chocolate milk I’ve ever had!
We had a lot of fun on our trip to the dairy!
