On March 18th, we went to Kansas City with Kristy, Kylie, Carter and Cade for a day field trip. We left Beka and Cade with Gramsie and G-Daddy and headed to Crown Center. They were having a “Fairy Tale Village” exhibit that we wanted to check out with the older boys. It was very cool – they had re-created the houses of many fairy tale characters, and the kids could go in and out of all the stories!
Here’s Luke sitting on Baby Bear’s chair in the Three Bear’s house.
Luke and Carter posed for a picture inside the house from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
They had an enchanted forest as well – here’s Kylie, Luke and Carter getting a quick pic!
After Fairy Tale Village, we hustled over to Kaleidoscope, where a Family Art Session was just about to begin! The kids had a great time working on all the different art projects. Luke got to use watercolors for the first time – though I think he was more excited about the drying machine that you sent your completed project through!
Here he is working on his crown.
After Kaleidoscope, we at lunch at Fritz’s inside Crown Center.
The kids really liked the big train set up outside the restaurant.
The restaurant had an awesome meal delivery system – you place your order over the phone, and then a train brings your meal. I somehow managed to not get a picture of the trains, but if you go to Fritz’s website there’s a video.
The kids all got engineer hats to wear – Luke kept his on during the whole meal! Our booth had a window next to it and a train periodically went by! It was a very fun day!
