Silly Kiddos

I have a random assortment of pictures of the kids that don’t really fit into any categories, so here they are for your viewing pleasure!  Some have a story, some defy explanation!

I have no idea how this happened:

I know how this happened, I gave the kids spaghetti, and then (foolishly) turned my back on the table for about 5 minutes.  I came back to see this first:

then turned my head and saw THIS:

She was very proud of the “good job” she was doing eating her spaghetti all by herself…all smiles!  They were both in the bathtub about five minutes later!

Beka came up with some new fashion choices during Easter weekend – I don’t think the world is ready for the “Easter basket on head look, though.

I don’t think they’ll both fit in a box together for much longer, this was an awfully tight squeeze!

Luke decided to take a nap during his quiet time the other day – I welcome the nap, however I question his sleeping position choice!

Yes, that’s Beka underneath the hamper.  She wasn’t sure what she thought about this turn of events.  I was impressed that Luke managed to get up on top of the hamper in the first place – but I told him that he shouldn’t trap her under the hamper until she’s old enough to tell him that she is ok with it!

And finally, hopefully Beka will follow in her Mommy’s footsteps and love to read – she seems to be off to a good start!

Lots of Easter Fun!

Easter seemed to be quite the event around here this year…at last count I think Luke had participated in at least four different Easter Egg Hunts!  Needless to say, we had a major stash of candy floating around for weeks after Easter.

The first celebration was with our playgroup here in Holton. Everyone brought eggs to contribute to the hunt, and then we turned the kids loose.  Beka even tried to get in on the fun, though she still wasn’t walking very well by herself at the time.  Luke tried to help her out though.

Once all the eggs were found, a hush fell over the park as all the kids immediately dug into their baskets, including ours.  Beka joined in too, once I made sure to “edit” what was in her basket first.  You might be able to tell by looking at their hair in the picture that it was VERY windy that day!

That night after the playgroup hunt, we had an Easter Arts & Crafts night at Parks & Rec.  Luke made lots of fun little bunny and chick projects, and Beka got to paint for the first time (helped by Addie and her daughter Lexie).

The next day we headed down to Peck to spend the weekend at Grandma and Grandpa’s house.  Uncle Micah, Aunt Wendy and Cousin Ida were all there too!  It was very fun to see Beka and Ida start to interact more and more.  We think they both got to be better walkers just by spending time together that weekend.

Luke got to “drive” a tractor with (Great) Grandpa Bob too – he was very excited about that!

And after our Easter dinner…another egg hunt!

All in all it was a very fun weekend – the kids always have a great time when we visit family!

Luke’s Three Year Old Photo Shoot

I am WAY behind on blog posts, so I’m going to spend the next few days catching up.  I’ll start with some pictures of Luke that Amy Cyphers of Cyphers Photography took about a month ago.  While we’ve had some issues with him not being too willing to get his picture taken when we’re in a studio, he LOVED being outside, and she got some awesome pictures.  Thanks so much Amy!!
